as guidance on how to update your webpage. By making these changes you’ll improve the booking experience for your existing and potential customers.

SEO 🔍
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the practice of optimising your website so that it ranks highly on Google.
If you have a Playfinder listing, we’ll have done the work already to help your venue rank highly, but you can also help your venue climb the rankings by including popular search terms in your website content. We suggest writing 200+ words, thinking about what your potential customers will search for. For example, if you run a sports club in Bedford with facilities like tennis courts and football pitches, put variations of these phrases on your Facility Hire page:

Email marketing 📧
One of the most effective ways you can promote your facilities is through email.
- Introduction email
We’ve shared a simple email template in our Launch Communications Pack so you can let your regular customers know that they can now book your facilities online through your website and the Customer Portal
- Regular communications
We recommend emailing your database regularly. The success rate of selling to existing customers is 60-70%, compared to 5-20% for new customers. You don’t need a fancy template to get your message across, but if you’d like to level up your email content we recommend Mailchimp’s free plan. Our team are on hand to help, but here are a few email ideas to get you started.
Social Media 📲
Another sure-fire way to raise awareness of your facilities is through social media.
- First announcement
We’ve shared a simple social post example in our Launch Communications Pack so you can share the news via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Like the email, the purpose of the posts is to let your followers know how they can book your facilities online.
- Engaging with Playfinder & Bookteq
We will tag your account in anything we post related to your venue and retweeting or sharing those posts will extend their reach. Please also let us know about any promotions you’re running and we’ll share them on our socials.
Offline Marketing 📢
While there’s a lot you can do online, it’s important not to forget the impact offline marketing materials can have on facility bookings at a local level. Upon request, you can order banners, posters and business card flyers. You can also create your own using design and print platforms, like Canva. If you need any support with what to include, please reach out to our marketing team using the contact details at the end of the pack.
- Banners
Facilities with banners up can see as much as 5x as many page views on Playfinder. To have the biggest impact, we suggest putting it up somewhere with a heavy footfall or facing a busy road.
- Posters
You can also print off some handy A4 posters from the pack and put them up in changing rooms and receptions. If you need to order any more offline promotional materials please let us know and we’ll send them your way
- A5 flyers
If your budget allows, printing a distributing leaflets can reach your local area, increasing awareness in the community. By providing tangible information about your facility's offering can drive bookings who you might not have reached through digital marketing channels.
- Business card flyers
You can also order some business card-sized flyers for you to have in your reception or any indoor space. The flyers tell your customers how and where they can book online.
